Emilio Gavira Theater

Inaugurated in May 1999 under the name of TEATRO AUDITORIO DE ALCAZAR DE SAN JUAN. It is part of the cultural heritage of the city. Since its inauguration it has become the cultural reference of the city.

This facility develops an important activity and its programming is especially aimed at music and theater lovers. It is dedicated to the exhibition of shows related to theater, music, as well as congresses and special days.

In September 2021, the municipal corporation agreed in plenary session to change the previous name to Emilio Gavira Theater, in honor of the actor of the same name adopted and residing in Alcazar de San Juan.

Information and general rules

Box office and tickets

Theater Box Office: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 pm. to 19:45h. and on the day of the show two hours before the start of the show. Internet sales: https://giglon.com.
The box office closes once the performance begins.
In order to take advantage of discounts, you must notify the ticket office when requesting your seat.

Spectators who have purchased their discounted tickets may be asked at the door to present the corresponding accreditation document entitling them to the discount, for verification.
Discounts are only applicable to tickets for more than 8 €.
Tickets to attend a show, once purchased, will not be exchanged or refunded. The cancellation of the show will be the only admissible cause for the refund of the amount of the tickets.
The sale of tickets is limited to a maximum of eight per person.
For justified organizational, technical and programming reasons, the Theater reserves the right to dispose of sold seats and exchange them for others.

Users with reduced mobility will be located in the spaces assigned for this purpose in the front row. Seats reserved for wheelchairs: Stalls, Sector C, Row 1, seats 2, 3, 4, 5, 10 and 11. Row 17, seat 16, 18. The person occupying this seat must remain in his/her wheelchair as the seat has been removed.
Given the characteristics of the hall, the seating capacity is limited to seats with lateral visibility. This circumstance is detailed on the website, as well as in the text of the entries.
In accordance with the Theater’s evacuation plan, all spectators are required to purchase and occupy a seat regardless of their age.

Punctuality and access

In consideration of the public and the artists, please be punctual.
The entrance to the hall will not be allowed once the performance has begun, until the first intermission/intermission, if there is one, or the hall staff indicates it.
Please turn off cell phones and alarms and do not use illuminated screens during the performance.
It is mandatory to enter the theater with a valid ticket document, regardless of the age of the spectator.
All children must remain in their respective seats while the show is being performed.
All children must enter the room with a valid entry document, regardless of their age.

In accordance with the theater’s evacuation plan, access to the theater with strollers, baby carriages, walkers, etc. is not permitted. They must be left during the performance in the places provided for this purpose.
Should any spectator have to leave the hall circumstantially during the performance, he/she may not return until the intermission – if any – or until authorized by the hall personnel, and in the place indicated, which may not coincide with his/her seat, in order to avoid disturbing the rest of the spectators.
Smoking is not permitted, nor is access to the theater with food, beverages, or objects considered dangerous.
Photography, recording and filming inside the theater during performances is not allowed, except with the express authorization of the Theater and the theater managers, and the use of flash is prohibited in any case.
Cell phones and all types of alarms must be disconnected or silenced before entering the room. The sound and the luminous screens are very annoying for the rest of the spectators. All shows must follow the instructions given over the loudspeaker or by the personnel in charge of the hall.
All spectators are requested to avoid any possible noise during the performances, which may distract the performers and disturb the rest of the audience.

The room staff is responsible for ensuring compliance with the general regulations.
The Emilio Gavira Theater reserves the right of admission for the purpose of preventing the access or stay inside of people who behave in a violent manner, that may cause discomfort to the public or users or may alter the normal development of the show or activity.
