The Emilio Gavira Theater has seven dressing rooms, of which three are for individual use and can be double and triple, one with capacity for 8 people, two more with capacity for 15 and 20 people and another mixed dressing room-make-up room with capacity for 14 people.
Located under the stage is the orchestra pit, which can accommodate an orchestra of 24 musicians.
In 2022, an important intervention was carried out, subsidized within the framework of the call of the Regional Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, of Grants for the Modernization of Performing and Musical Arts Infrastructures – 2021, within the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, -financed by the European Union- NextGenerationEU.
The aim of this project was to transform a 20th century Theater into a “Smart” Theater of the 21st century, through three axes:
- Accessibility: Create an inclusive theater for all people, especially people with disabilities (sensory deficits) and reduced mobility. Among others, the elimination of the existing architectural barrier in the ascent to the stage from the stalls, allowing the integration and interaction of people with reduced mobility on stage, given the architectural difficulty designed in the fourth wall of the stage. Another intervention has been the elimination of the hearing barrier, through the Magnetic Induction Loop, for people who use prostheses such as hearing aids or cochlear implants.
- Sustainability: Create an energy efficient theater, with the acquisition of LED stage lighting and a new Lighting Console.
- Digitalization: To create a digital stage space adapted to the new requirements, demands and productions of the companies.
